I have been searching locally all over and not had any luck finding gears. I find a few here and a few there but not enough to to keep projects going steady. Online seems a tad expensive for anything descent. Anyone have any leads or ideas for a cheap steady supply of gears?
Garage sales are excellent for finding little bits. Just get an old clock for $1. Also look for estate sales and auctions, most cities have regular auctions, if you drop by the auction house earlier in the week you can check what they'll have for sale (some even post photos on their websites) and decide whether you want to go and bid or not (though usually at an auction you'd pay quite a bit, you can get real deals on boxes and boxes of watches, clocks etc. if you look carefully).
