The other day while at an event, one of our steampunk friends gave me some of his extra old tubes to play with. I was having no luck finding any cheap ones in my area yet. THANK YOU!^^
I never liked the idea of destroying a perfectly good vintage tube (or one that "might" be good) so I took a container marked "USED BULBS" down to my local Advance Auto Parts store and they collect used bulbs for me. I stop by every few weeks and pick up a big bag full. I remove the bases and make pretty convincing vacuum tubes from them. I have fooled electrical engineers. Up-cycling FTW!
